Officers

Tom Williams - President

Tom  Williams spent his professional career in the energy business, including twenty five years in Houston. Growing up in Kentucky, and then later working in Washington, D.C., and Houston, his professional focus has been on advancing technology to utilize the nation’s natural resources in an environmentally responsible manner. He retired in 2018 as President of a non-for profit research consortium. Tom and his wife Gale now live on Short Street.


Will Freeman - Vice President

Will grew up in Lexington and has a BA in Economics and a master’s in finance from the University of Virginia. Upon graduation, he worked in finance for 3 years in New York City. He moved home to work at an agriculture startup in early 2021 and bought a house in the Western Suburb. Will now works for Keeneland, enjoys living downtown, and frequently walks to businesses, restaurants, and bars in the area.


Gale Williams - Treasurer

Gale is a native Kentuckian and lives at 620 West Short Street with her husband Tom. Gale has a strong financial background and is the Business Operations Director for a large, diversified construction company. She has a degree in accounting from George Washington University.


Board members

Cary Davis

Originally from Ashland, KY, Cary moved to Lexington for college and married husband Lew in 1984 and have three children. They bought a lot on Bruce Street in 2016 and designed and built their home.


Rebekah Gray 

Rebekah Gray was born in Glasgow, KY and moved to Lexington at an early age. She graduated from Vanderbilt University and began her career in Washington DC. After several years, she moved back home to work for Gray Construction where she is Vice President, Strategic Projects. Rebekah serves on the AGC of KY Board as well as an Advisory Committee Member for Step by Step, an organization dear to her heart. In her free time, Rebekah enjoys offshore fishing, hiking, and cycling with her husband, Ben. She is a passionate ambassador for Howard’s Team. She is also a horse racing enthusiast and can be found trackside at the Keeneland racecourse during the Spring and Fall meets.


Ashlee Harris

Ashlee Harris grew up in Western KY, graduated from the University of Kentucky and Lexington has been her home ever since. With a background in Marketing/Advertising, she now heads up Operations at an interior design firm, serves on the board for the Lexington Dream Factory, and helps facilitate CreativeMornings Lexington. She moved to West Short St. in 2020 and loves living and working in our beautiful downtown.


Alma Kajtazovic 

Alma Kajtazovic is currently an owner and operator (with her sister) of Sorella Gelateria, located at Jefferson and Short.  Sorella Gelateria is a small, locally owned gelato shop specializing in hand crafted, small-batch Italian gelato and sorbet and is Lexington’s first artisan gelateria.  The sisters always wanted to combine their love of culinary arts and business experience. They named the shop Sorella, which means sister in Italian.


Prior to owning her own business, Kajtazovic worked for five years as Finance Director at LexArts. In addition, she spent ten years in property management and advertising.  Alma has a BA in Finance from UK and an MBA from EKU. Kajtazovic along with her sister helps numerous nonprofits by offering gelato and other services to charities and community events.


John Newton

John was born and raised in New Jersey. He and his family also lived in the Bay Area for 20 years. Seeing a television show on Kentucky, the family took a visit and fell in love. They relocated in 2005 and upon becoming empty nesters, they decided to move downtown and purchased a townhouse in Opera House Square. John works for Ricoh as a customer liaison for CommonSpirit Health. John has been married to his wife Marianne 44 years. The have two children Jack and Bridget, both UK graduates.


Gregory Pettit

Gregory grew up in Lexington and has a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from Columbia University. After a long career in corporate communications in NYC,  Gregory moved back to Lexington and bought 704 West Short St. in 2012. He has served on several non-profit boards in Lexington, and can be seen walking two little black dogs, Emmalou and Toby.


Analy Scorsone

Analy has lived on West Short Street since 1998. Retired Kentucky Community and Technical College administrator, she enjoys cycling, jogging and downtown life. She received her PhD from the University of Texas Austin and master’s degree from the University of Kentucky.


Peggy Trafton

Peggy grew up in Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a BA in Communications. After raising a family in Westchester County, NY, she was encouraged to move to Lexington where she has family. Since 2005, Peggy has lived downtown and moved to 734 W. Short St., in Feb. in 2022. She has always been involved in non-profit work and has served as the executive director of the Rotary Club of Lexington for the past 14 years.
